We did it!

We made it….

Seriously. No joke. For real. Holy cow, we finished what we started, did what we said we’d do.

California to Colorado… one woman and a couple courageous horses, a lot of angels, and one loving husband who not only let me, he helped me.

A hundred and nine days, a thousand something miles, and one helluva wild ride across the Wild West. Finding the way,  my own way, a little bit outlaw and outside the dotted lines, and fueled with a lotta trust, faith and openness. A whole lotta riding, a little bit of walking, and the new found skill of hitchhiking with horses from time to time… camping, couch surfing and roughing it more than I ever wanted to. Then all of a sudden, damn… it’s done.

To those who knew I’d do it even when I had my doubts…. thank you. With the fullness of this very full heart. To those who thought I couldn’t, wished I wouldn’t, felt I shouldn’t… well, I guess I gotta thank you too. Sometimes proving people wrong can be a powerful motivator. I mean, you gotta have a little grit to even start a journey like this.  And you gotta have a lot to finish. Grit and grace and gentleness. The last two may not be me. But damn sure are my horses.
