With Gratitude.

The wood shed is almost full. The summer weeds are pulled, the winter garden planted. Summer’s fires have settled and the rainy season started early. No more excuses. Time to get to work on all those Thank Yous!

In writing letters and looking over my journal of the journey, the theme presented itself endlessly: lessons of humility, and gratitude…

The greatest part of the journey was not in fiercely defending my independence as I thought it was going to be. Rather, it was in softly settling into the understanding of interdependence. People. Yeh, the last thing I thought I’d be grateful for. People were what made my trip so dear.

So many of you to thank. If I went in chronological order, there’d definitely be Retta, for sure Liz, a whole lotta others, and always, always Bob. But I’m never that organized. So here’s a great place to start: Those of you who followed my journey from the get-go got to know the amazing Megan of the M Squared Ranch in Cottonwood, California. Megan, her awesome husband Mike, and her equally amazing kids were essential angels throughout my trip, and have become a big part of my heart.

This week, Bob and I had the opportunity of opening up our world in kind, and hopefully sharing a little bit of the big huge lot of gratitude I have for them all!

Thank you, my friends. I love you.

  1. Great lessons. Open heart is the main one. And that you never la cked. Not it’s expanded to embrace more of humanity! So needed in these times. Grateful for your sweet presence all these months of sweat and tears and JOY!! Love you dearly.
