If you want to fall in love with life again, get out there and live.

The view from the tent this morning.

Closer. Ever closer.  And at the same time, farther, ever farther.

Onto the next leg of our journey.  Thanks so much to so many kind people in the town of Alturas that reached out and connected with us along this ride.  Most especially the marvelous Amanda and Troy @McKinney Farms, for the care and companionship and the renewed direction that they shared.

Crow reading up on the Devils Garden wild horse herd, likely where the next horse I adopt will be from.

Into the Modoc and Devils Garden as Dorothy faces her fears.  I’m okay defending my horses from bears and bugs and bulls. But a band of wild stallions is new for us. Found out they are horses,  beautiful horses, and respond as horses do to this wild west of a woman.

Not not every person can live out their life in the walls of a castle, as not every horse is content stuck in a stall with the occasional release of arena or groomed trail.  To see my ponies thriving and growing in health and confidence, new skills and a point and purpose… yes. Just yes 🙂

More than likely I’ll be lacking in cell service and communications again for a while.  I apologize I’ve not kept up, especially with my dear ones, as well as I’d like. I promise I appreciate… and need… the connection.

With love, always love,

Gin

  1. HI Ginny: Just read your new update. I am always so excited when I see a new post from you! Smokey and I have been to Lost Creek several more times since I met/saw you. I know we will meet again (someplace/sometime). You are such an inspiration! Take care.

    • Love all this Gin. Hear you cossed into Oregon today, woohoo. Amazing 50+ days already. Sending big hugs, love you superwoman!

      • Thank you Kevin… it’s been a trip, and still a ways to go. Hope to see you and Clare somewhere out there on the long dusty road before too long. Love you!

      • Ride on sister, we’ll surely come out to see on the road somewhere later this summer.

  2. Wow! You’re almost out of California! I bet the terrain has changed…. I’m still following along with you…. What an experience!
